12-13 May 2025
@ Freie Universität Berlin, Department of Management
in cooperation with Leuphana University Lüneburg
The 3rd Organizing Creativity Transalpine Paper Development Workshop is aimed at academics who wish to develop their ongoing work, empirical or conceptual, related to creativity, broadly defined, i.e., embracing both “OT” (organization theory) and “OB” (organizational behavior) perspectives on creativity and innovation. The workshop will be developmental, with each paper receiving detailed and hands-on feedback from two senior scholars with a track record of multiple publications in the field of creativity research. Authors will also receive feedback from peers with similar research interests.
The workshop is of special interest to all early scholars: not only doctoral students who completed a substantial part of their dissertation but also post-docs, assistant professors, researchers, and junior lecturers.
The workshop has become an annual opportunity for early scholars in the fields of organization and management, strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, or public management to join a vibrant international community of scholars interested in creativity and creative processes and practices in and between organizations. The workshop offers an opportunity to feel part of a community, benefit from discussion and exchange of ideas, and envision new collaborations.
We see this workshop series as an opportunity to develop a community of creativity researchers in Europe and beyond that builds on and connects communities that have been established at EGOS and in the context of various centers of creativity research.
Potential Research Topics
We welcome submissions from a variety of theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches that aim to contribute to the study of creativity. Potential contributions include, but are not limited to, the following research topics:
- Creative and cultural industries
- Creative-led policies for local development
- New ways and forms of organizing for creativity and innovation
- Creative hubs and other collaborative workspaces for creativity
- Microfoundations of creativity (cognitive, social, affective)
- New methods for the study of creativity
- New theoretical approaches to creativity and innovation
Application and Selection
We encourage applications based on abstracts of around 1,000 words. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is January 27, 2025. Abstracts should be submitted to:
creativity@jku.at. Notifications of acceptance will be communicated by mid-February 2025.
Once accepted, participants will be asked to submit a full paper by April 28, 2025. Papers will then be electronically distributed to all participants at the beginning of May 2025.
