THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY AT LEUPHANA UNIVERSITY LÜNEBURG INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING JUNIOR PROFESSORSHIP WITH TENURE TRACK:
Business Administration, in particular Sustainable Finance (W1TTW2)
For this position, we are seeking a committed researcher with a visible international research profile and a strong research agenda (documented by publicly available working papers). Your research is centered in the field of finance (preferably in corporate finance, capital markets, or corporate governance) and informed by the broader debates at the intersection of the fields of finance and sustainability. Methodologically, you possess strong quantitative analytical skills and are well trained to apply state-of-the-art empirical methods (on large datasets). You show a strong commitment to high-quality research as demonstrated by continuous presentations in leading international conferences and an initial track record of publications in recognized peer-reviewed outlets (VHB Jourqual 4 (B or higher) or the Academic Journal Guide (3 or higher)) with preferably at least one article published in a top-tier journal of the field (VHB Jourqual 4 (A or A+) or the Academic Journal Guide (4 or 4*)). You pursue a viable publication strategy and have a promising publication pipeline. Ideally, you have already established a vibrant international network and have spent an official research visit during your career (PhD or Post-Doc period) at a leading international business school with a recognized finance department. Applicants bring as far as possible initial experience in the acquisition of externally funded projects. Ideally, you have already successfully acquired third-party funding on your own. In addition, you have a convincing strategy for successfully obtaining external funding during the junior professorship.
In terms of teaching, we are seeking a candidate with teaching experience in the field of finance at the bachelor and ideally also master level who offers high quality and innovative teaching. During the tenure-track period, you will offer electives in our bachelor and master programs, supervise theses, and contribute to the continuing development of the programs. Prospectively, you will also contribute to the doctoral training in the research group of Management, Accounting and Finance. You develop teaching methods in line with Leuphana’s approach of research-based education and an emphasis on activating students. You contribute to Leuphana’s educational philosophy, and you show commitment to uphold the high standards of our programs. Most of our courses at the bachelor and master level are taught in English. Consequently, we expect an excellent command of written and spoken English.

Formal requirements according to § 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG) are: a university degree and a PhD in a discipline relevant to the open position; your aptitude for teaching; and your ability to engage in independent academic research, as demonstrated by the outstanding quality of your Ph.D.
The junior professorship will be filled in accordance with pay grade W1 and is initially limited to a period of three years. The position will be extended for an additional three years, subject to a positive academic evaluation (in accordance with the guidelines for the mid-term evaluation of junior professors of Leuphana University Lüneburg). After six years, a positive tenure evaluation process according to the Tenure-Track Regulations of Leuphana University Lüneburg will lead to a permanent W2 full-time professorship.
