The Scientific Commission Marketing of the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB) addresses all academics who deal with the subject of marketing in its various facets, with the research of market- and customer-oriented behavior of organizations from the fields of industry, trade, services and non-profit organizations from different perspectives (e.g. behavioral science, method-oriented, institutional economics). The scientific exchange between university lecturers in the field of marketing and the promotion of young academics in this field are at the heart of the commission's work. To this end, the Scientific Commission Marketing organizes an annual conference at which experienced university professors as well as younger colleagues and private lecturers present and discuss their current research findings. The annual conference also offers the opportunity for panel discussions on current university policy issues or special topics.
Important events of the members such as appointments or chair replacements, awards, dissertation and habilitation publications, research projects, cooperation requests and selected publications are published in a newsletter that appears four times a year. The newsletter also contains job advertisements and announcements of academic events and conferences.
The Commission also appoints an advisor for junior researchers with the aim of intensifying communication between German-speaking junior researchers who are interested in information from the field of marketing. The annual marketing habilitation meeting, which is organized by the habilitation students themselves, also serves to promote young researchers. The aim is to discuss current research projects and methods, to exchange important information on appointment practice, but also to promote cooperation and networking between future university lecturers.
