Research Assistant / Doctoral Student (f/m/d)


located at WHU Campus Vallendar, starting on January 1st, 2022 or later.

Academic Environment
WHU has more than 50 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU aims to adhere to three principles: quality, internationality, and relevance to business practice.

The Chair’s academic interests lie primarily in the fields of metaheuristic methodologies, combinatorial optimization problems, as well as the interface between operational research and artificial intelligence. In particular, we value mathematical foundations and emphasize practical applications.

Job Description

  • You are expected to develop research projects using the below-mentioned methods in the context of Operations Management and Logistics.
  • You are expected to teach in English in the Bachelor and Master programs at the WHU.

Job Qualifications

  • You have an outstanding master’s degree in Operations Research, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • You have strong interests in Optimization, Quantitative Methods, and interdisciplinary research questions.
