Universities are undergoing constant transformation. Since COVID-19, higher education institutions have been faced with new challenges. However, the pandemic may have also created opportunities for universities in co-creating their future.

In this 5th webinar of our series Smart Universities, we want to take stock on:
How to lead European universities from COVID-19 emergency teaching to a long-term (digital) education strategy?

Join this webinar and explore the ongoing change process in higher education.

  • The changing role of universities – visionary thoughts of Ada Pellert (FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany)
  • Stakeholder cooperation and collaborative learning as key issues for the university of the future – valuable insights by Oliver Vettori (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria)
  • Form emergency teaching to a sound mix of online and in-presence education – proven experiences by Pietro Micheli (Warwick Business School, England)

Join our 5th webinar on January 26th 2021 and learn:

  • How COVID-19 experiences can be used to co-design the university of the future;
  • Which aspects can be integrated in long-term higher education management; and

What is next?

Challenges in Remote Working - Trust, Surveillance and AI

Trust has massively gained importance during the last months, as physical distancing, remote working and virtual teams became the new normal.

  • How can managers and employees secure trust in each other?
  • What emerging technologies could support, but also undermine, trust?
  • Is “responsible surveillance” the solution or an oxymoron?

These questions will be in the focus of our next Virtual Dialogue, which we will organize in collaboration with Microsoft, FAS research and Lappenranta University.

We look forward to welcoming the following high level experts as keynote speakers:

  • Kirsimarja Blomqvist (FI), Professor for Knowledge management at the School of Business at LUT University talks on Trust in online communities
  • Harald Katzmair (AT), Founder and Director of FAS research gives insights into How the corona-crisis effected (trust in) networks
  • Harald Leitenmüller (AT), Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Austria shares insights into recent and future applications of Artificial Intelligence in Remote Working
