Topic 8: Teaching Activities and Supervising Students

Of course, most association members have teaching responsibilities.  At the same time, it is clear that there may be appointments or timetable clashes, of which the VHB Whitsun conference is a good example. Is it acceptable for academic assistants (doctoral students) to undertake teaching activities? What other activities of members/professors may justify this and which do not? How often are such conflicting activities acceptable within a given semester? How do we deal with evaluations? What supervisory activities can students expect from their lecturer?
