Online Research Methods

The course is designed for doctoral students in business administration who want to learn about and
conduct online research as to harness insights from the large amount of (openly available) online data.
The aim of the course is to provide students with methodological foundations and advanced knowledge
on online research methods in business studies. After attending this course, participants should be able
to:

  • understand the opportunities and challenges of online research methods
  • plan and conduct qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods online research
  • handle data management
  • visualize online data
  • become sensitive to the specific ethical issues of online research
